CAROLINA DIAS

Creative and executive producer, director and screenwriter for more than 20 years, Carolina founded Refinaria Filmes in 2002. She directed documentary films and produced numerous feature fiction and documentary films, most of them in international coproduction. She was also a member of the screenwriting team for the famous TV series for children "Detetives do Prédio Azul" (Blue Building Detectives) from 2017 to 2023, and has worked as an external expert for ANCINE, in Brazil, and Creative Europe. Carolina is currently pursuing a PhD in Sustainability Sciences at the University of Lisbon researching on Film and Audiovisual Narratives and Sustainability. JOSÉ BARAHONA (In memoriam)

(1969 - 2024) Film director and screenwriter, José has directed several documentary films and two fiction films, that were exhibited and won prizes in national and international festivals. Barahona has also written about cinema. Many of his articles were published in the Portuguese newspaper Público. He had a degree in Cinema, in Lisboa, and completed his studied in Cuba (Escuela Internacional de Cine e TV de San Antonio de Los Baños), and New York ( New York Film Academy).
